Free Food Box Program
Kohala Food Hub, in partnership with Hawai'i Department of Education and Hawai'i Good Food Alliance, is serving a free food box program funded by the USDA starting the week of February 3rd.
We will be distributing free local food boxes at a value of $55 each filled with local produce and proteins to 177 families in North Kohala and Waimea, over 22 weeks. Each Box will contain 4-5lbs of local vegetables, 3-4lbs of local fruits, and 1-2lbs of local meat (local grass-fed beef).
Applicants will be prioritized for service based on:

Household income
-
Participation in Federal assistance programs
-
Number of keiki and kupuna living in the households
Households with 4+ members may be eligible to receive more than 1 box each week!
Boxes will be distributed on Thursday afternoons in Kapa‘au and Waimea. Please visit the link below to fill out the application

We are also looking for more volunteers to help us with portioning and packing boxes on Thursdays to run this program.
