OUR NETWORK

Become a Producer

Whether you're harvesting veggies, blending herbal teas, drying fruit, or crafting other local goods, we’d love to work with you!

Why Join?

We’re proud to support producers of all sizes—from backyard growers and small-scale farmers to experienced food entrepreneurs. Whether you sell once a year or every week, we make it easy for you to get your products into the hands of local customers across North and South Kohala.

We Offer:

  • Fair & transparent pay – we work with you to determine fair pricing that reflects the value of your products.

  • Market access for small growers – no minimum volume required.

  • Wholesale opportunities — we can purchase larger harvests for our wholesale clients, multi-farm CSA and food access programs.

  • Pick-up support – outside of North Kohala? We’ll work with you to arrange pick-up and simplify delivery to us.

  • Convenient sales – list what you have, when you have it.

  • Logistics support – we handle online orders, customer service, and distribution.

  • Technical assistance & connection to resources – training on our POS system, DOH regulatory compliance & network weaving.

 FAQs

  • Nope! Producers are not required to list or sell every week. When registering as a new producer, you can decide whether or not to autofill the availability of your products each week.

  • We’ll work with you to determine a fair and competitive price that reflects the value of your product. Our goal is to ensure pricing that works for both you and our customers.

  • Simply bring us a voided check when you drop off your items on Wednesday and we'll get you set up! Double check that the address listed on the check is accurate.

  • Contact our team at shop@kohalafoodhub.com for any support you need navigating Local Food Marketplace. We are happy to help!

  • It depends on what you’re making. According to Hawaiʻi cottage food regulations, you do not need a certified kitchen to sell certain items like baked goods, nut butters, jams, vinegars, syrups, dried fruits and vegetables, and spices.

However, if you’re producing fermented foods, acidified foods, canned or bottled foods, dried meats or seafood, low-acid canned foods, or garlic in oil, these must be prepared in a certified kitchen.

Need access to one? We offer an affordable certified kitchen for rent right here at Kohala Food Hub—perfect for small food businesses looking to scale safely and legally. Head to our Certified Kitchen page to learn more!
